  • Brelje & Race proudly sponsored last night’s 2024 Engineer’s Week Banquet co-hosted by ASCE Redwood Empire Branch and the ACEC North Coast Chapter. The annual event benefits ASCE’s student scholarship program and provides a venue for both organizations to award scholarships to engineering and surveying students attending Santa Rosa Junior College. Congratulations to this year's scholarship recipients!

  • With record high prices and tight supply affecting housing across California, state lawmakers have enacted several laws in recent years aimed at spurring the construction of affordable housing. New statutes like SB 9, SB 34, and SB 4 eliminate common barriers to new housing projects by streamlining local approvals and mandating short processing times for development applications. And eligible projects aren't limited to large apartment buildings - duplex conversions and urban lot splits on existing single family properties can also qualify. Partnering with experts can help you ensure your project moves through local approvals efficiently and avoids costly delays. Brelje & Race has extensive experience with planning, permitting, and civil design for residential developments in Sonoma County and the North Bay, including multi-family residential and affordable housing projects. We can assist with determining your project’s eligibility, confirm code consistency, and work with your design team to complete the civil portions of the application. If you're considering building affordable housing on your property, contact us to learn more about how we can help. https://lnkd.in/gJVeWDai

  • Congratulations to Santa Rosa Junior College on the completion of the Lindley Center for STEM Education! Brelje & Race was on-hand for a ribbon cutting event last Friday to mark the opening of this new three story, 95,000-square foot academic building. The $100 million facility boasts an Innovation Center to promote hands on learning, a STEM Success Center to expand student support resources, student-focused learning spaces, expanded chemistry and physics labs, a large lecture hall, and a new quadrangle. Brelje & Race was engaged by SmithGroup JJR, the project architect and primary design consultant, to provide engineering design for civil site improvements. Civil site design focused on demolition, grading, wet utilities, stormwater management, and constructability reviews. We're pleased to see the this important project open to students, contributing high-quality facilities for the College and providing for the academic success of future generations of Sonoma County students.

  • This morning Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers attended a groundbreaking event for the Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District’s Water Storage Reliability Unit 9 Tank Project. Several local leaders were on hand to offer remarks in support of the project, including Representative Mike Thompson (D-CA 4th District), Assemblywoman Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (District 4 - Winters), and Lake County Supervisor Moke Simon (District 1), as well as the District’s Board President, Claude Brown. Brelje & Race is proudly providing construction management and inspection services for this essential water infrastructure project. Funded in part by the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, the project will replace an outmoded redwood water storage tank with two new 250,000-gallon bolted steel tanks. This vital improvement will upgrade equipment and add capacity, supporting the District’s efforts to maintain water service for local residents and improve fire suppression capabilities in an area at high risk of wildfire.
