“You don’t know, what you don’t know, until you know. This one of the most important life lessons that you can really take in. Life is full of all sorts of lessons and until you have a connection to someone or something- you may never really understand it. Today, we hope to help with one of those connections…” Roseland University Prep Juniors and Sophomores learned an important lesson in BELONGING last week. These presentations bring attention to the fact that every single one of us simply wants to live in a community where they feel like they belong…including people with disabilities. These presentations create a place for teens to learn and grow, together. We are enthusiastic about working alongside teens because they will soon be the ones running the world one day and this type of growth amongst the students can have a long lasting impact on the future of our society. Common Ground Society will be back at Roseland University Prep at the end of April to finish providing educational presentations to the rest of the students on campus. We currently have a limited grant to offer free presentations in high schools. Know of a high school who could use one? Reach out!

April is Autism “awareness” month but here at Common Ground Society we are shifting the focus from "awareness" to 🤝ACCEPTANCE 🌈 This is an important aspect in recognizing the diverse spectrum of human experiences and perspectives. ALL BRAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL Celebrating Autism Acceptance Month encourages our community to embrace neurodiversity and understand that each individual has unique strengths and contributions to offer if only we are brave enough to recognize it. It's a reminder that acceptance is about actively celebrating and embracing all members as integral parts of our communities. Our world needs all types of people to go round. Understanding our differences enriches our lives and fosters a more inclusive and compassionate society. So let's celebrate our uniqueness and diversity because we are all different and that is RAD! #CommonGroundSociety #AutismAcceptance #AutismAwareness #HelloBelonging #BeTheOne #Autism

“Connection is key to inclusion. I have a connection to Larkin and her family and thus Common Ground Society, this is why I nominated them, as a difference maker, not only in Northern California, but for all humans that need a place to connect, be supportive and belong. I admire the great work they are doing and am so happy that I work for T-Mobile and benefit from the support of the T-Mobile Foundation that supports our local nonprofits.” Each conversation brings happy tears for good!”- Travis LaPlante Thank you Travis and the T-Mobile Foundation for believing in our mission. Thank you for seeing that change needs to be made and helping us reach our goals. We will make you proud with this donation! It’s because of thoughtful donors like T-Mobile Foundation that we are able to continue spreading the good word of acceptance and inclusion while creating a COMMUNITY OF BELONGING in Sonoma County and beyond! #commongroundsociety #donations #grateful
